Spicy and sweet, similar to anise.

General benefits
Expectorant, antispasmodic in cases of abdominal pain, carminative, prevents bloating, gastric stimulant.

Ayurvedic properties
Its flavor is sweet, spicy and bitter. Suitable for the three Dosas.

Culinary uses
Digestive General benefits. The leaves, if fresh, are used for dill. Since fennel has such a strong flavor, it must be dosed with caution. Goes with salads, cottage cheese, potatoes and especially fish.
